What Should Serena’s Punishment Be?

Tomorrow Bill Babcock, the Grand Slam administrator will announce Serena William’s punishment for lashing out against a female line-judge during the US Open semi-final match against Kim Clijsters.

Many believed a suitable punishment for Serena Williams whose fortune is believed to be over $50 million, would be to suspend her from defending the Australian Open singles title in January.

Francisco Ricci Bitti, president of the International Tennis Federation, doesn’t think that a suspension would be appropriate since it “would penalize the people handing out the punishment.” Is the ITF bowing down to the tennis megastars again by letting her play in the Australian Open?

Still others feel a significant financial penalty would make more sense. But how much would be enough since a financial penalty might not really hurt Serena who is thought to be worth millions of dollars?

What punishment should Serena Williams face? Should they financially penalize her or ban her from the Australian Open?

Let us know what you think in the comments.

The Woz says Posing in Bikinis is Good for Women's Tennis

We found some great pics of Wozniacki hanging with her friends at the beach after a hard day at the courts.

As you know, Wozniacki posed in bikinis earlier this year for FHM magazine and said she thought it's good for women's tennis if the off-court and photo shoots bring more attention to the game. What do you guys think?

Metro.co.uk: Your teen rival Victoria Azarenka has stripped down to pose in her bikini. Is that good for women's tennis? Would you?

Wozniacki: I think it's good. If that's a thing players choose to do I think that is a good thing. As long as you have good results on the court I think it brings more attention to the tennis to do some modelling outside of tennis. It's OK. I have done a lot of pictures and things. I haven't been in a bikinis and showing too much. Right now I feel best with my coat on. It's up to every player individually to know their limit.

Djokovic Hopes to Defeat Federer in Basel

Novak Djokovic is in Roger Federer‘s home turf in Basel and he is playing in the main draw for the first time. After his win over German player, Andreas Beck on Tuesday, he hopes to meet hometown favorite Roger Federer in the final.

He admits that being in the town that Federer was born can be somewhat intimating but the people in Basel have shown him "great hospitality." “In Basel, everything revolves around Federer; after all he is the best tennis player in the world and this is the city where he was born.” states the third-ranked Serb.

But that still doesn’t prevent him from wanting to spoil the mood by beating the #1 ranked Swiss in his hometown. Most importantly, if he does well in Basel and in Paris, Djokovic will be close to #2; he will have the possibility to step between Federer and Rafael Nadal for the first time in his career.

Do you think that Djokovic has what it take to beat Federer and obtain the #2 ranking?
